Project Summary Page
The purpose of this project was to inform teens and their families the harmful effects of drug and alcohol abuse. It also shows what those suffering and loved ones of those who suffer from addictions can do to get on a better track to a healthier, happier life.
This video relates to multiple Family and Consumer Sciences subjects and careers. In Foods and Nutrition, we learn that a healthy body and mind can lead to great success in multiple areas of your life, including sports, relationships, and jobs. Family relationships are a key focus in Family and Consumer Science and by helping individuals be aware of drug and alcohol abuse we can strengthen family relationships.  Addiction counselors is just one field that helps those in need find a way back to a healthy lifestyle
Around 38,000 died from drug abuse in 2010, which is unbelievable. 38,000 lives, ideas, friends, lost to something preventable. Thousands more where left to mourn over someone so dear in their lives. This project helps just a little by showing that no matter how far you think you are from a better life, it is still possible.
Knowledge and awareness are some of the first steps to become better, because without them, you would never think you were doing anything wrong. If only one teen by is touched this message, than my goal has been accomplished. To be aware, informed, and enlightened by the negative effects of drugs and the positive effects of staying drug free is the goal of this video.
